The sacred knots of this fairytale wedding was tied in Windsor Castle on the blessed steps of St. George’s Chapel. The whole world along with the surprising A-list of 600 guests gave the royal couple their sincere wishes. If you missed the slightest detail of this auspicious event, then here is an elaborate account of all the tender moments from the royal wedding.
HOW THE ROYAL WEDDING UNRAVELLED
This royal wedding was a big blow to the cobwebs of stereotypes having a history of thousand years. However, there was glitter and sparkle of love along with various royal traditions. Ever since the genesis of this love affair, the sweet couple challenged different royal traditions. From, Harry breaking the expectations to marry a British blonde to Harry coming to his wedding in his ginger beard, the couple silently articulated their modern-styled royal union. Royalty wears a veil of taboos with exclusive and difficulty history, but Prince Harry is a gentle, kind, and the down-to-earth person who fell in love with a 36-year-old, American actress from Suits who also happens to be a divorcee. This royal wedding restores our faith in love and builds an excellent foundation.
THE TWO DRESSES PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE
On her big day, Meghan Markle let go of an extravaganza outfit and instead wore an elegant and aesthetic Givenchy dress designed by Clare Waight Keller. The double white silk with an open neckline, nicely framing Meghan’s shoulders, brought timeless yet fresh modernity to the occasion. The American princess paid tribute to all 53 Commonwealth countries in her own hideous and praiseworthy style. Her 5-meter long veil had floral emblems of all 53 countries along with the favorite flowers of Meghan like Wintersweet, California Poppy, etc. American Princess chose Stella McCartney lily white dress for her evening reception. Her second dress of delicate silk crepe had a high halter neck. George Northwood styled Meghan’s hair into Chignon style for the evening and pulled her beauty game a notch up. Silky satin Aquazzura shoes having baby blue and nude-mesh soles further complimented her dress.
THE CEREMONY AND DETAILS
Prince Harry and Prince Charles made a glorious entrance wearing frock coat uniform. The permission to wear this single-breasted style coat from blues and royals was granted by Queen herself to Prince Harry. The uniform had Pilots’ wings Badge, four medals along with buckskin white waist-belt. Meghan Markle arrived at the chapel with her mother Doria Ragland in a vintage Rolls Royce. Thomas Markle didn’t accompany her daughter because of his critical health issues. Despite not attending the wedding, Thomas expressed his heartfelt emotions by saying “My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy. I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness.” In the absence of her father, Meghan asked Prince Charles to accompany her on the aisle. Prince Charles happily walked Meghan down the aisle of St. George’s Chapel and gave her away as his future daughter-in-law. A few moments away from the historical ceremony, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged few brief adorable glances. As the couple stood together next to the Altar, the Kingdom choir and Karen Gibson sang a classic hit “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King. With hundreds of royal fans and millions of people watching in awe, the couple managed to borrow few cute, private moments. As soon as the prince laid eyes on her princess, he sweetly complimented her saying, “You look amazing” and millions of people skipped their heart-beats. The traditional vows of the couple moved everyone in the chapel to tears. Queen granted the permission to celebrate the royal marriage in the Windsor Castle at the place of worship called St. George's Chapel. Her Majesty wrote a handwritten letter in the form of Instrument of consent. The royal family paid for all the services at the ceremony like decoration, flowers, music, and reception.
RING AND CAKE
The royal family follows a sincere tradition, as per which the rings are made from the silver of Welsh gold. All the royal brides from Queen herself to her mother has shared the nugget of this Welsh Gold. This little sliver of Welsh Gold was an enchanting gift from the Queen to Meghan in the form of good-luck and blessings. The royal wedding cake was as unique as the wedding itself. Claire Ptak from Violet Bakery designed it. The cake featured the elderflower syrup from the very own elderflowers trees in the Queen’s residence.
The thunder of this royal event shifted for a while from the sweet couple when Michael Bruce Curry delivered a lively speech. Bishop Curry was the first African American Reverend to address the church in England for a royal wedding. The preacher subversively spoke about the power of love, equality, justice, and the industrial revolution and thrilled the entire world. He even quoted Martin Luther King Jr. and made his speech a memorable one. Besides being a contemporary symbol, this speech was much-needed by the crowd as it injected the passion, love, and power.
A-LIST OF ROYAL WEDDING GUESTS
Lord Lieutenant Regional offices sent the invitations to a total number of 1,200 people from diverse backgrounds as well as age-groups. This list was meticulously created and not all the diplomats like Barack Obama, etc. were invited. On the big day of this royal couple, almost 600 guests were in attendance. Paparazzi was buzzing around Graham Clooney and his wife, David Beckham with his wife Brooklyn Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, Priyanka Chopra and of course, the entire cast of Suits. The Frogmore House was the venue for the reception where a close-knitted group of only 200 guests participated in the after-party.
